The Health Center at Carrington Place® offers a compassionate and dignified approach to skilled nursing care. Truly a departure from the nursing home concept, the goal at Carrington Place® is to prepare residents for a successful return to their previous living arrangement. From the moment of admission, competent and caring professionals from Nursing, Dietary, Activities, Social Services and Rehabilitation departments begin to assess each resident’s unique needs. Our team meets as a group and begins to formulate a plan of care –which may include assistance from other health care professionals, clergy, support organizations or family members.

 

Family members are then invited to attend personal conferences to discuss, change and modify the prescribed plan of care. This approach has given our unique Health Center a formidable reputation of being a first class health care provider. Our wellness philosophy encourages residents to live a full and balanced lifestyle. A complete calendar of activities and social programs are offered for all resident lifestyles. Qualified therapists and assistants inspire our residents to reach for and attain new levels of independence. Carrington Place®’s Health Center is licensed by the State of Iowa and participates in the Medicare and Medicaid Programs and third-party insurance programs.

 

 

Professional “Home-like Atmosphere” – We accomplish this goal by adopt­ing the Pioneer Concept of care. By reversing the hierarchy of care in placing the resident at the top of the organizational chart, we create a care taking philosophy as opposed to a traditional medical model.

Rehabilitation – We continue to provide and expand our therapy services for Medicare A and B benefici­aries.The goal is to provide an individual with the means to regain the necessary skills for them to return to the community to live, if appropriate, or to be as independent as possible while remaining a resident of our “home”.

Short Term Rehabilitation

Our goal is to help people rebuild their health, function and independence through our comprehensive short term rehabilitation programs.You will find a dedicated and enthusiastic team designed to assist people get back on their feet following a stroke, joint replacement, surgery, illness or accident.

·         24-hour supervision, 7 days a week by qualified licensed nurses and staff

·         Dental, optometry, podiatry, psychology and counseling services

·         Physical, occupational, speech, and respiratory therapy

·         Beautiful private and semi-private rooms

·         Daily housekeeping

·         Full-time activities coordinator

·         Full-time social services coordinator

·         Free notary and fax services

·         Barber/beautician services

·         Respite (short-term) care

·         Three meals and snacks daily (special diets accommodated)

·         Wound and skin care management

·         Comfort care for terminally ill residents Chapel

·         Wheelchair accessible van to assist residents to appointments

·         Payment options include private,Medicare,Medicaid,and third-party insurances
